Building on the design of the Korea-only, petrol-powered CASPER introduced in 2021, the Inster features an extended body and wheelbase to provide more interior space and a robust road presence.

With its increased dimensions, the Inster sits between traditional A-segment sub-compact city cars and larger B-segment compact models, offering excellent maneuverability and increased convenience for city driving and parking.

Hyundai commented, “With Inster, we’ve taken the small SUV image to a bold new place for the global audience.” Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of the Hyundai Design Center said, “Inster punches well above its weight with distinctive design and an interior that maximizes its potential in exciting, customer-centric ways. With Inster, we’re redefining what it means to drive a subcompact EV.”

The Hyundai Inster will launch with an additional model to join the family this summer.

As a robust yet compact SUV design with clean surfaces, muscular wings, a high-tech bumper, and a bold skid plate. It features LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, tail lamps, and bumpers. Customers can customize the car’s appearance with LED projection headlights and a two-tone exterior with a contrasting black roof. Depending on the specification, wheel options include 15-inch steel with wheel covers, 15-inch alloy, or 17-inch alloy wheels.

INSTER’s compact footprint, robust exterior design and spacious interior deliver versatility.

This Urban SUV boasts advanced technology including a 10.25-inch digital cluster, infotainment touchscreen with navigation, and a wireless charging dock. The pixel theme is evident in the interior graphics, and customizable upper door trim garnishes allow for personalization.

Also, the interior is versatile and spacious, with foldable seats and options for a front bench seat, heated front seats, and a steering wheel. The car’s exterior uses sustainable materials, such as recycled paint and bio-based materials in the interior.

The new technology in the Inster small SUV offers fast DC charging with a standard 42 kWh battery. An optional Long-Range 49 kWh battery will be available, which can deliver a range of 355 km (approx 220 miles) on a single charge and can charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC High-Power charging station. It also features a standard 11 kW onboard charger, an available battery heating system, and a high-efficiency heat pump.

Sophisticated technology, safety features, and exceptional EV capabilities.

The new model has a wide range of features also fitted including; Vehicle-to-Load functionality, enabling the powering of external devices (110V/220V) without additional equipment. Hyundai plans to release a new car in Korea this summer and later in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
