Dacia Bigster has been awarded ‘Best Affordable Hybrid SUV’ in the EcoCar Electrified Top 50, highlighting its spacious design, practical features, and budget-friendly pricing.
The EcoCar Electrified Top 50 spotlights the UK’s top electrified vehicles, and Bigster’s recognition underscores Dacia’s commitment to making hybrid technology accessible to all.
EcoCar Editor Ian Robertson praised the Bigster for redefining value, offering genuine efficiency and spaciousness at a fraction of the cost of rivals. He described it as a practical, well-built SUV perfectly suited to families seeking affordability without compromise.
The award comes as Dacia outlined its FutuREady strategy at Renault Group’s recent conference, focusing on accessible electrification and robust, affordable vehicles. Bigster exemplifies this vision by delivering hybrid power in a spacious SUV without unnecessary extras.
Starting at £25,215, the Bigster expands expectations for affordable SUVs. Available in three trims—Expression, Journey, and Extreme—with mild hybrid and hybrid options, it combines Dacia’s trademark ruggedness, space, and value. The popular hybrid 155 version is priced from £28,190.
All trims feature practical equipment such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, rear parking sensors, a multiview camera, automatic wipers, and an Easy Fold rear bench seat.
The lineup stays straightforward: Expression offers essential equipment, Journey adds comfort features like 19-inch alloys and adaptive cruise control, while Extreme appeals to outdoor enthusiasts with modular roof bars and hill descent control.
Lina Ribeiro, Dacia UK Brand Director, emphasised that Bigster reflects the brand’s direction: more electrification, more space, and greater capability, while avoiding unnecessary complexity or high prices. She noted that the award validates Bigster’s core purpose.
Bigster delivers a hybrid SUV tailored to real families and budgets, aligning with the FutuREady roadmap’s focus on practical, purposeful technology.
Soon, the Bigster will offer a hybrid 150 4×4 powertrain, further enhancing Dacia’s reputation for rugged, dependable SUVs designed for everyday adventure.
