Skoda Auto has begun producing the updated Octavia at its main plant in Mlada Boleslav. The new version features a redesigned grille, second-gen LED headlights, and integration of ChatGPT with the Laura voice assistant. The Czech carmaker will create more capacity in Mlada Boleslav as it shifts Octavia production to the Kvasiny plant later this year.
Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, said: “With just about 7.5 million units produced since the first modern generation debuted in 1996, the Octavia remains the heart of our brand. This latest update sets new standards in design, technology, and sustainability. The model is now even safer, with the higher proportion of sustainable materials in the seats, dashboard, and door trims, alongside the integration of cutting-edge connectivity features.”
The latest Škoda Octavia has a sleeker and more dynamic exterior with optional LED matrix beam headlights. The interior offers eco-friendly options with four trim levels and nine Design Selection trims. The practical features, like the ice scraper and optional umbrellas, are made from sustainable materials in line with Škoda’s Simply Clever philosophy.
Octavia’s tech now includes a 10″ display and AI chatbot ChatGPT in the Laura voice assistant system. The vehicle is also equipped with advanced assist systems, enhancing safety and convenience.
Skoda will continue to offer the Octavia in both Sportline and vRS variants. The Octavia Sportline is known for its dynamic design and offers four engine options, including two diesel and two petrol powertrains. The sportiest Octavia versions have featured the ‘vRS’ designation since the year 2000. The vRS version comes equipped with a 2.0 TSI engine that delivers 195 kW (265 PS) and features distinctive glossy black details and a red reflector strip on the rear, which highlights its sporty appearance.
