INEOS Automotive has launched the Grenadier Commercial in the UK, a customised version of the 4X4 that qualifies owners to reclaim VAT and receive lower benefit in kind (BIK) tax rates.

The new Grenadier Commercial replaces the two-seat Utility Wagon. It has a full-length flat floor, a cargo barrier, can carry a 1,200mm x 800mm Euro pallet, and is designed for professional use. It’s a 4X4 with a 3.5-tonne towing capacity, over 2,000 litres of load space, and 5.5 tonnes of winching power.

The Grenadier Commercial qualifies for VAT exemption due to certain modifications. These include replacing rear passenger windows with aluminium panels, blacked-out glazing on the rear doors, and disabled chassis mounting points to prevent adding a second row of seats.

George Ratcliffe, Commercial Director, INEOS Automotive, comments, Customers in the UK have been asking for this addition to our model line-up since we launched in 2022, so we’re pleased to make this available so quickly. The versatility of the Grenadier platform allows this level of modification without any compromise to the driving dynamics or off-road capabilities.”

The INEOS Grenadier combines rugged British design and German engineering rigour, making it a perfect companion for those who need a hard-working vehicle that offers modern comfort and refinement. It has a full box-section ladder frame chassis, heavy-duty solid beam axles, a two-speed transfer case, up to three locking differentials, and is powered by a BMW 3.0-litre turbo-charged engine.

The Grenadier Commercial is set to be manufactured at the INEOS Automotive facility which was acquired from Mercedes-Benz in Hambach, France. The conversion of the vehicle will be carried out by engineering specialists EDC Limited based in Pontypool, UK.

The Grenadier’s body-on-frame construction provides great versatility for customization, and the five-seat double cab Chassis variant of the Grenadier Quartermaster pick-up is aimed at specialist vehicle converters and commercial body builders worldwide. Production of this variant is expected to start later this month.

Orders for the Grenadier Commercial will open on the 2nd of May, 2024, with prices starting at £51,931 excluding VAT and OTR. Customers can register their interest HERE
