The MG brand is celebrating its 100th year anniversary at Salon Privé London Royal Hospital Chelsea. The new electric sports car, MG Cyberster, will be publicly showcased for the first time ahead of its launch this summer. Designed at the company’s London design centre in Marylebone, the MG Cyberster boasts a low nose and distinctive rear haunches, along with ultra-modern touches such as a Kammback tail and scissor doors.
The new MG Cyberster will be offered in two versions: the single motor version produces 340PS, allowing it to reach 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds, while the range-topping dual motor all-wheel drive MG Cyberster will produce 544PS, allowing it to reach 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, making it the most powerful production car to have ever worn the iconic MG badge.
The MG Cyberster will also be available in an array of colours, including Dynamic Red, New English White, Camden Grey, Cosmic Silver, and a premium option called Inca Yellow.
“Like the original MGB Roadster of the 60s, the MG Cyberster is a two-door, two-seater convertible with a design inspired by MG’s sporting history,” said Guy Pigounakis, MG Motor UK commercial director. “However, its fully electric drivetrain and high-tech interior marks a new era for the brand and is a figurehead for the next generation of electric motoring.
“Salon Privé is the perfect setting to introduce the MG Cyberster to a wider audience and allow guests to closer inspect our halo model. We’re looking forward to being part of this prestigious event and joining some of the world’s greatest marques on display.”
