UK car manufacturer Dacia recently conducted a study revealing that 37% of the 21 million Brits expected to travel during the May Day Bank Holiday struggle to find parking. The study also found that over half (51%) of respondents become “vehicle vultures” when searching for a space, with over 11% admitting to taking a space from another driver.

On average, Brits spend two months of their lives searching for a parking spot. To help, Dacia is teaming up with JustPark to offer £10,000 worth of parking during the Bank Holiday weekend, allowing drivers to pre-book spaces and avoid stress.

The locations revealed to have the ‘worst parking etiquette’ are:

Some consider it their only yearly adventure (9%) and have anxiety about parking costs during Bank Holidays (43% overall, 51% for families). The average Brit spends £11 on parking per week (£572 p.a.). Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK said “Adventure and focusing on just the essentials is part of our brand’s DNA, so that’s why we want to give back a little and encourage Brits to make the most of the upcoming Bank Holiday without worrying about the additional cost of parking.

With the research highlighting parking is a major concern for families when embarking on a trip away, we’re hoping by offering £10,000 worth of parking will alleviate some of that and lend a helping hand so people can spend more quality time with friends and family.”

Jared Rood, Partnerships Manager at JustPark said “JustPark was designed to take the stress out of parking for drivers everywhere, so it is great to team up with Dacia on this mission. Finding parking on Bank Holiday weekends, as millions of Brits head out on day trips can be especially fraught. Being able to offer these free parking spaces takes away the hassle; drivers can simply book their space, park and enjoy their day out.”
