The new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 won its first international victory just four months after its debut at Silverstone, securing a class victory in Japan’s prestigious AUTOBACS SUPER GT Series. This also marks the British luxury brand’s first win in the series.

D’station Racing, representing Aston Martin in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), won the 3-Hour race at Suzuka with drivers Tomonobu Fujii and Charlie Fagg. Fujii, the team’s managing director, also secured the fastest race lap on the way to his first SUPER GT win since 2016. The #777 D’station Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT3 finished 38 seconds ahead of its nearest rival.

Aston Martin’s US-based partner team, Heart of Racing, achieved its best result of the season in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, securing third place in the GTD Pro class in Detroit. Aston Martin works driver Ross Gunn and GTD Pro class race-winner Alex Riberas raced from sixth place to claim the new Vantage GT3’s first podium finish in the event at the short street circuit in ‘Motor City’.

Adam Carter, Aston Martin Head of Endurance Motorsport, said: “We’ve known from the outset that the new Aston Martin Vantage GT3 can deliver success at any level of GT-based endurance racing. That its first victory came in Japan is particularly satisfying, given the prestige of SUPER GT, the fact that we have never won in that series before, and perhaps most importantly because of the excellent work D’station Racing has put in to achieve this success since forming our partnership in 2019. I’m also delighted to note Heart of Racing’s podium finish in Detroit, delivered with the team’s usual blend of race savvy and tenacity. That both teams have recorded strong results the week before the 24 Hours of Le Mans preparations begin in earnest is a very welcome boost to everyone’s confidence heading into the most important phase of the season.”

Aston Martin currently has 25 powerful Vantage GT3 cars competing in over 10 major GT series globally, and we expect this number to grow to at least 35 by the end of the first season.

The new Aston Martin Vantage GT3, unveiled in February, shares the same mechanical architecture as the Vantage road car and is equipped with a powerful twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, a bonded aluminum chassis, cutting-edge aerodynamics, revised suspension, and state-of-the-art electronics, solidifying its exceptional performance potential.
